Tasting notes

The (almost) 100% Merlot of Grégoire Hubau is, again, up to its reputation. It's because he gives more and more attention and rigor to the grappes which are harvested in best time on advised of Michel Rolland. Beautifull nose of sweet fruits and spices. The mouth, round and balanced grows up to a final rich and long. Good for ageing. A genious wine which makes us fan of the new style "Rive Droite".

The property in brief

Château Moulin Pey-Labrie owes its name to a very old mill situated in the heart of the prestigious Canon-Fronsac appellation area and to the local name of the place where the vineyard is planted. "Pey" means "hilltop". Paul Princeteau, father of the famous animal painter and personal friend of Toulouse Lautrec was owner of the estate in 1860. Today, Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau lavish attention on the estate's vines and carefully make its wine. Driven by their love for and passionate interest in wine, Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau left their roots in Northern France to come and settle at Moulin Pey-Labrie. Soil type, grape varieties and orientation: these are the keys, along with sunhine and rainfall, that make up the quality of Château Moulin Pey-Labrie wines. These are dark, black cherry coloured wines, with powerful, very generous bouquets and fine woody tannins that have mellowed well and make the wines exceptionally long-keeping. "Moulin Pey-Labrie has enjoyed a special long-established reputation in the area, that has never been so well deserved as today."
